I wasn’t going to last at this rate.

I forced myself to stop then I leaned forward, finding her lips with mine. She returned the embrace, setting my lips on fire. My hands groped her tits, feeling them in my large hands. Then I pulled off my shirt and kicked my bottoms off the rest of the way.

I lifted her from her knees then guided her to the nearest bed I could find. When I found it, I position her on her back then I pressed my face between her legs, attempting to give her the same pleasure she gave me. I concentrated on her clitoris and sucked.

Her hand gripped my hair and she moaned loudly. “Yeah…”

It was difficult listening to her moan from me, especially when I remembered how my dick felt in her mouth and I kept thinking about tit-fucking her. I tried to keep going but I was growing desperate.

I gave up then moved over her. “Tell me you have a condom.” I didn’t bring any. Most guys left them in their wallet but I never expected to score this early in the dating game.

“I do. But I hate condoms.” She opened her legs and grabbed my hips, pulling me closer to her. “I’m on the pill.”

I didn’t do unprotected sex. It wasn’t a good idea. I really liked Jasmine, and I definitely wanted to feel her skin-to-skin, but it wouldn’t be wise.

“I’m clean,” she said. “Don’t worry.”

I knew I was. I was so sex-crazed and out of my mind that I pointed my cock at her entrance and slipped inside. “Oh fuck.” She was warm and smooth. I paused while I was inside her, adjusting to the tightness and how goddamn amazing it felt.

Jasmine gripped my shoulders and rocked into me from below. She took me in over and over, and hard.

I thrust into her hard, staring at her tits as they bounced up and down. I was living out every guy’s fantasy. I had the hottest chick in the world underneath me, and she was moaning while I gave it to her good and hard.

The sex was so much work, but shit, it felt good. I was sweating and so was she. This had to be the best I’ve ever had in my life. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, she flipped me onto my back. She pulled out of me then turned around. While balancing on the balls of her feet, she lowered herself onto my cock then took me in over and over.

“Fuck.” I watched her ass as she sheathed me over and over. It was the tightest ass I’d ever seen.

She moved into me harder, keeping a perfect posture. Then she started to rub her clitoris. Moans started to come out louder and louder. Then she slowed down as she came around me, tightening on my cock.

Knowing she was coming made me come. I tensed then released myself inside her. The wave of pleasure was so powerful I lost my breath and I dug my fingers into her skin. I gripped her tightly as the orgasm stretched on longer than usual. I knew I was pumping a massive amount of seed into her, and every second felt amazing. “Fuck, that felt good.”

She stayed still for a moment before she pulled me out of her.

My cock fell onto my stomach, still slightly hard.

Jasmine cleaned up then handed me a box of tissues. Then she lay down and released a satisfied sigh. I cleaned up then pulled the blanket over me. I gave myself a mental pat on the back for not coming too soon. I deserved a medal for it.

Jasmine closed her eyes and her blonde hair cascaded around her. She was a sexy creature, but when she lay still with her eyes closed, I didn’t see her that way anymore. She looked like an angel sleeping peacefully. Her skin was fair and unblemished. Without the strong shine of her green eyes, she seemed docile, almost shy.

I moved closer to her then moved my arm around her thin waist. “Did you used to strip?”

She smiled but didn’t open her eyes. “No. Why?”

  “You’re really good at it.”

“I know how to pole dance,” she said.

“And you were never a stripper?” I asked incredulously.

“It’s a good exercise,” she whispered.

  “I’d like to see sometime.”

“If you’re good,” she said vaguely.

“Can I sleep here?” I asked.

“Sure. But you don’t have to. I won’t be offended if you leave.”

  “I don’t want to leave,” I said.

“Okay.” She kept her eyes closed.

Why did she assume I wanted to leave? I didn’t ask. “You’re amazing in bed.”

“Why, thank you. But you and your cock deserve some praise too.”

I chuckled. “A guy is only as good as his partner.”

She lay with me but didn’t touch me. Her arms were pulled tight to her chest. She was suddenly stiff and untouchable. It was like she didn’t want to be near me.

  “What’s your favorite color?”

She finally opened her eyes. “All the colors.”

“All of them?” Never in my life had I heard someone give that response.

“They are all beautiful. Well, except black. Yuck.”

  I chuckled. “Yuck?”

  “What’s yours?”

  “Green.”

  “Why green?” she asked.

“I didn’t realize how beautiful it was until I looked into your eyes.”

She stared at me for a long time. “You already got me into bed. You don’t need to feed me a line.”

“Got you into bed?” I asked with a laugh. “Uh, you’re the one who seduced me like a professional courtesan.”

“No…I just hinted at it.” She gave me a playful smirk.

“Whatever you want to call it.” I pulled her closer to me. “Want to go out this weekend?”

She stared at me for a long time. “You don’t have to pretend you’re going to call if you aren’t. I’m fine with it, really.” Then she closed her eyes.

Did I miss something? “No, I really want to go out with you.” Why wouldn’t I? She was totally amazing.

  “Really?” Her eyes opened again.

  “Yes, really.”

“Then yes. I want to go out this weekend.”

  Chapter Twelve

  Roland

Mike’s accident had shaken me up. He was my uncle but he was like a second father to me. He’d been in my life since I could remember, and he took me to baseball practice and out to ball games. The idea of losing him was too much to contemplate.

But I was glad he was okay. It was a close call and it could have ended a lot worse. He was lucky to escape with a broken arm. Dad was really upset about it, and Mom was even worse. Everyone’s feathers were ruffled.

Heath ignored me for weeks. He was still pissed off that I didn’t tell Conrad we were seeing each other, and I completely forgot about it in light of Mike’s accident. I took a week off of work because I couldn’t focus anyway. Nora wasn’t happy but I really didn’t give a damn.

Now that everything was settled down, I knew I should talk to Heath. But honestly, I was pissed off he hadn’t comforted me during the travesty. He held onto his anger and ignored me when I needed him. That wasn’t fair. And he was angry over a stupid reason. I expected a relationship with a guy to be easier than with a girl, since guys were less emotional. But that theory didn’t pan out at all.

I missed Heath and wanted to talk to him but every time I considered calling him I held back. How could he be so selfish? Why should I apologize to him? Conrad came to me with a problem. It would have been selfish to drop a bomb on him like that. “Oh, by the way, I’m gay. But sorry about you and Beatrice.” It would have totally been inappropriate. Heath was so obsessed with me coming out of the closet that he was blind to everything else.

So, I decided not to go to him.

When I went back to work, Heath ignored me. I did the same, irritated with him beyond reason. I wanted to smack him upside the head. Sometimes I felt weak and just wanted to give in because I missed him, but I somehow found the strength to stand my ground.

  But that was difficult.

When the second week had passed, I started to worry. Would he never apologize to me? Did he really think he was right? Was
he really that stubborn? Was this how our relationship ended?

I sat in my apartment and debated going to see him. We clearly were both willing to hold our silence as long as possible until the other one caved. Neither one of us were willing to give in.

I rested my face in my hands when there was a knock on the door.

  Was that him?

I walked to the door then looked through the peephole. Heath stood on the other side, his arms across his chest.

I’m glad he finally saw reason.

I opened the door and stared at him.

  He returned the look.

Heath was wearing a gray collared shirt and black slacks. Like always, he looked handsome. His clothes fit his broad shoulders and expansive chest perfectly. His hips were thin and his slacks hung loose. It was hard to remember why I was so angry.

“Can I come in?” he asked quietly.

“Yeah.” I stepped aside and allowed him to enter. I was disappointed when he didn’t kiss me.

He ran his fingers through his blonde hair, what he usually did when he was stressed. “There’s no easy way to do this so I’m just going to say it.”

  “Okay…”

“This isn’t working for me. I can’t be with someone who chooses to hide all the time. It’s disrespectful to me. And you’re hurting me. I just can’t do it anymore.” He didn’t look at me when he spoke.

A million emotions ran through my body, but surprisingly, anger was the most predominant one. “You’re an asshole, you know that?”

He looked at me, and there was confusion in his eyes.

“I’m going through a really hard time right now, and if all you care about is me telling people about our relationship, then fine, get the hell out. You’re being incredibly selfish, and if that’s who you really are, then I don’t want to be with you anyway. So leave.” I opened the door and waited for him to walk out.

He put his hands in his pockets. “I’m being selfish?”

“My uncle almost died. Do you really think I care about your feelings right now?”

He narrowed his eyes then pressed his lips together tightly. He pulled his hand out of his pocket then rubbed the side of his face. “Wait…your uncle? What are you talking about?”

“My uncle got in a really bad accident and he almost died. It’s all over the news. There’s no way you didn’t know about it.”

He held up his hand like he was trying to silence me. “Ro, I had no idea…”

“Why do you think I haven’t been at work?”

  “I thought you were sick…”

“No, I was sitting at his bedside, hoping he would wake up. My family was scared to death. Heath, I love you and you’re important to me, but my family comes first. If you think I’m going to chase you around while I might lose my second father then you’re mistaken.”

He covered his face for a moment and sighed. “I didn’t know. I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

His words seemed sincere and I believed him.

“I’m sorry.” He lowered his hands and sighed. “I feel like a jackass now…”

“It’s okay,” I said quietly. “You didn’t know.”

He sighed and came closer to me. “I would have been there for you if I’d known.”

  “I know…”

He cupped my face and pressed his forehead to mine. “Are you okay?”

“He’s going to be fine so I feel better now.”

  “What happened?”

“He was driving drunk and he crashed. They had to put him in a coma because of the pressure on his skull. Fortunately, he woke up and he’s getting better. The worst injury he has is a broken arm.”

“Shit,” he said. “Damn, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” I said again. “Honestly, his wife is probably going to do worse to him.”

Heath didn’t laugh at my attempt to lighten the mood. “This whole time I’ve been avoiding you when I should have been there for you. I’m so sorry.”

  “It’s okay, Heath.”

He pulled me into his chest and hugged me for a long time. His arms made me feel warm, and for first time in a few weeks, I felt better. Then he moved away. “Is there something I can do?”

“No, I’m okay,” I said. “But we still have a problem.”

  “What?” he asked.

  “Our fight hasn’t been resolved.”

He sighed. “Forget it about it, Ro. It’s water under the bridge.”

“No,” I said. “Conrad is like a brother to me. When he comes to me with a problem, I’m not going to drop my own news just to make you feel more secure about our relationship. You’ve been gay your whole life and it’s only been a year for me. You’re rushing me when you need to be patient. You need to back off.”

He nodded and there was sadness in his eyes. “You’re right.”

“So, can you just drop it?”

He ran his fingers through his hair again. “Did you fool around with that girl you met?”

I gave him an irritated look. “What do you think?”

  He looked away, ashamed.

“After Conrad left with his date, I ditched mine.”

  He nodded in satisfaction.

“But you shouldn’t need to ask that.”

“I know,” he whispered. “I’m just worried you’re going to try to prove you’re straight again or something.”

“I’m not,” I said firmly. “I understand what I am now. You need to trust me.”

“Okay,” he whispered. He came forward then kissed me gently. “Can we start over?”

  “We already did.”

  Chapter Thirteen

  Conrad

My world had been turned upside down in the past two weeks. Dad almost died. I could have lost him forever. It was so unexpected and sudden that I couldn’t process my emotions. When he was okay, I finally broke down and released everything in a flood. I sobbed, not caring that everyone in my family could see me. I almost lost my dad.

  He was almost gone.

I hadn’t always been that nice to my dad. I was a smart ass and said mean things just to get a rise out of him, but he’d always been there for me. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for me, and he always made it clear he loved me.

It wasn’t until recently when Beatrice dumped me that I’d gotten close to him. He took me out golfing and spent time with me. We worked out together, played basketball, and just talked. I’d gotten to know my father in a way I never did before. And having him taken away at such a wonderful moment was spiteful.

What would I have done without him? What would have happened to our family? Mom would be devastated, and I’d have to take care of her because Dad was no longer around. I’d have to look out for Trinity in a way I never did before. The weight of responsibility was pushed on my shoulders, and I almost cracked even though it never came to pass. Thinking about being the man of the house, and taking over PIXEL in his stead made me realize just how stressful his life was. He had a lot of things to take care of but he always made it look easy. I had a new respect for him. And I promised myself I would show it more often.

I came by the house a few times a week to check on him. He was feeling well but he sick of sitting around. His arm was still in a cast and he looked restless. He had a million different medications to take, and Mom was constantly chauffeuring him to doctor appointments.

I came over and watched the game with him. I never drank around him because I knew Mom wouldn’t let him have anything. I stuck with water or tea so he wouldn’t be enticed.

Dad seemed to notice. “Son, you can drink around me. I don’t have a problem.”

  “I’m okay.”

He sighed. “Conrad, I don’t have a drinking problem.”

  He was in denial.

“I don’t,” he said to an argument I never gave.

“If you drive while you’re drunk, I think you have a problem,” I said. “With all due respect.”

“I didn’t realize I was drunk,” he said.
“Honestly.”

“Why were you drinking so much?”

He didn’t look at me. “I was depressed over your sister. I guess I spiraled out of control for a moment there—not that she’s to blame for any of this. I’m responsible for what happened.”

“Why didn’t you just tell someone?” I asked.

“I did but I assumed it would pass. I thought Trinity and I would make up, and when we didn’t, the depression got worse. I hope you never understand what it feels like to lose a child. It’s heartbreaking.”

  I didn’t have a response to that.

“So, I don’t have a drinking problem. I just got carried away because I was depressed. On a day-to-day basis, I have a single beer, nothing more. Your mom is overreacting about the whole thing, but I won’t drink if it helps her sleep at night. I owe her that much.”

I nodded and rubbed my knuckles.

  “So, Conrad, have a beer.”

  “Nah.”

He rolled his eyes and sighed.

I lay on the couch and watched the game.

“You need anything, honey?” Mom came to him and rubbed his uninjured shoulder.

“I’m okay, baby,” he said. “Thank you.”

She wrapped her arms around him then leaned over the couch, her face pressed to his neck. She held him for a moment and didn’t say anything.

Their affection made me uncomfortable so I looked away.

Mom sniffed then walked back into the kitchen.

“She still cries a lot,” Dad explained. “I’m perfectly okay but she still upset about it. She has nightmares.”

“Well, you did scare the shit out of us,” I jabbed.

“I deserved that,” he said quietly. “So, what’s new with you?”

I remembered Beatrice coming to my apartment. “Beatrice asked me to take her back.”

His head turned to me. “What did you say?”

“No.” I didn’t feel any regret over my decision.

  “And what was said?”

I got worked up just thinking about it. “Three months had passed. She hadn’t called or reached out to me at all. Three months. That’s a long ass time.”

  He listened passively.

“And then she told me her brother convinced her she was wrong. Her brother. She only came back to me because her brother made her realize it.” I crossed my arms over my chest and shook my head. “I’m done with her. Now I’m looking for a cool, fun, no bullshit, has her shit together, chick.”
